Imagination - Rolls Royce Phantom Global Launch

Project Overview

  • Imagination Ltd took the founding philosophy of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars – “When it doesn’t exist, design it” – and commissioned Blinding Light to supply a bespoke, one-of-a-kind LED Chandelier for the global launch of the extraordinary new Rolls-Royce Phantom. The iconic new car, which for so many is the signature of Rolls-Royce, was revealed to the world at Bonhams international flagship saleroom on New Bond Street, London in an exhibition of the “Great Eight”; eight of the most historically significant Phantoms from throughout the 92-year history of the illustrious model.
  • Lighting for the launch came from a rig of Martin by Harman Mac Aura XB fixtures, each fitted with a custom-built hexcel top-hat to control any unwanted spill. Blinding Light also supplied all rigging for the event, including a Kinesys motion control system. The Lighting Design and design concept of the LED Chandelier came from Jonny Milmer and Toby Johnson at Imagination.
  • Jon Chute, Production Manager for the event commented “I would like to thank the Blinding Light team for the delivery of a first class show; not only for a flawless rigging solution, but for total commitment to the project. This, combined with your honesty, diligence and problem solving in the face of some considerable challenges, meant we were able to take a complicated job and execute it in the utmost professional manner”.
  • Blinding Light were honoured to be awarded such a prestigious project, continuing our close working relationship with Imagination. Crew chief for the event was James Tomlinson, with MA2 programming and media servers by Ben Cash for Flare Lighting.
