Blinding Light stage features in 4th consecutive Soccer AM show down

27th May 2014

Tinchy StryderFor the 4th consecutive year, Blinding Light has provided its self climbing stage and rigging to BSkyB for the 2014 Soccer AM season finale. This year's show featuring legendary DJ Fatboy Slim as well as live performances from Tinchy Stryder and Soul II Soul took place this Saturday.

Each year Blinding Light works closely with the client to determine the internal rigging requirements needed to produce the elements of the show that take place under the stage. These requirements change year on year to complement the lighting equipment used by BSkyB's in-house team.

Previous rigging solutions have included suspended truss in a range of shapes including circles, squares and triangles with a variety of coverings. This year's rigging solution used a system of vertical and horizontal bars affixed to the stage leg supports. This year, the 8 x 6 metre stage not only provided support for the lighting rig, its full blackout covering also offered welcome shelter from the rain for the featured artists.

Blinding Light supplied four in-house crew to build the stage and install the rigging at Soccer AM's West London studio. The team were also on hand to assist BSkyB's technicians with the lighting installation and returned to site to carry out the de-rig on Sunday morning.
