- On 27th June 2012, the fashion and art industries came together to celebrate Britain Creates 2012 at a VIP Gala fundraising event at the Old Selfridges Hotel.
- The project conceived by the British Fashion Council and Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation and in partnership with the Mayor of London, was a unique opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the longstanding relationships between fashion designers and visual artists and brought together a plethora of names that had collaborated to produce specially commissioned one-off works of art.
- Blinding Light worked with INCA Productions to illuminate the exhibited work, venue and gala dinner. The lighting design needed to create an atmosphere that would complement the art on display and provide a dramatic and luxurious atmosphere amongst the surroundings of the derelict hotel. To ensure that this was the case, specific attention was paid to colour use throughout the venue and small scale lanterns were used throughout the space to accommodate the low ceiling heights.
- In the gala dinner space, hundreds of custom made light bulbs were transformed into chandeliers and installed to provide a unique and intimate feel for the 300 VIP guests in attendance.
