- Quite often the conferences we work on aren’t just conferences, when Blinding Light worked with DMS in December on a conference for Dreams this was exactly the case. Not only did we prepare for a full day conference, this event at Hinkley Island hotel also featured an awards ceremony and a fashion show to support the launch of new staff uniforms.
- The venue provided a few unique challenges to overcome. The room only contained two lengths of scaff bar in the roof which could accommodate just 175kg spread across each bar. This meant that the fixtures chosen by designer Nick Holloway had to be very carefully selected in order to fully light the required stage elements and stay within the weight loadings.
- To achieve a lighting rig that would accommodate the various elements of the show we used Fresnels to create a stage wash accompanied by Source4 Juniors that lit the catwalk, lectern and logos. Clay Paky 300 HPEs were used with custom gobos and K10s provided coloured stage wash and awards effects. Finally, Miltec battens lit internal set pieces and RGB LED Tape was used to accentuate the side of the custom catwalk and to create some additional drama during the fashion show a Glaciator Extreme log fog machine was deployed.
